The word serf means to be "a member of a servile feudal class bound to the land and subject to the will of its owner.". This describes our relationship to Christ. We must surrender our will to his, and He has promised to take care of us and our needs.
1 Corinthians 6:19b-20 (NLT)

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
(5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. (6)Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
