Surrender

Galatians 5:16-17 (NIV) So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. [17] For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. As we open God's Word and attempt to develop a relationship with him, we put aside our human desires and fall more deeply in love with God. This leads to a relationship with the Holy Spirit that is unlike anything we can even imagine. As the Scripture says, "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express." Romans 8:26 (NIV). Surrendering to the will of the Spirit, brings a peace and a freedom that is beyond our ability to comprehend. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. [7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV). I pray that I will become fully surrendered to the Spirit's prompting, and that my light will shine in the world, so as to bring glory to God.
